What is IoT?
Internet of Things (IoT) is trending.
To begin with, the Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices and vehicles, home appliances. Usually, these devices or vehicles contain embedded electronics, software, sensors and connectivity. Hence, IoT enables these things to connect and exchange data, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical reality.
More importantly, IoT involves extending Internet connectivity beyond standard devices, such as desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets. At the same time, with high technology, these devices can communicate and interact over the Internet, and users can monitor and control these devices remotely. With the arrival of driverless vehicles, a branch of IoT starts to gain more attention.
As a matter of fact, the definition of the Internet of things has evolved due to the convergence of multiple technologies, real-time analytics and embedded systems. In fact, traditional fields of embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, control systems, automation, and others all contribute to enabling the Internet of things.
